WE COME FROM THE END OF THE WORLD
Our name comes from the Ona language and means “to travel the road and define the walk”, evoking the journey of discovery that the Selk’nam people used to make on a daily basis
The Selk’nam were a Chilean-Argentinean indigenous people made up of nomadic hunters and gatherers, who inhabited one of the most challenging territories in the world: Tierra del Fuego, in southern Patagonia.
Their lifestyle was characterized by a light and constant travel, in which tasks were divided, there was a strong mutual trust and they were flexible in the face of changes, risks and uncertainties in their environment. Their social structure was horizontal, formed by small groups where leadership alternated among its members.
The Selk’nam worldview inspires us, which is why we chose this meaningful word from their language. For us, Yuken represents the learning journey of a development team faced with problem solving. This process drives us to question the context, identify new challenges, investigate the system related to those challenges, and finally integrate and synthesize relevant information to generate efficient, meaningful, creative and innovative solutions.
By building our own experience and learning from it, we recognize the fundamental value of having access to the creation of new experiences."
By building our own experience and learning from it, we recognize the fundamental value of having access to creating new experiences-not only in terms of consumption, but also as new and better ways to learn meaningfully and, consequently, evolve as a society.
At Yuken we see innovation from design as a learning path. We invite you to co-design the future that we want to live in.
